Tourbillon Pour le Merite

Described often as a perfect watch, the Lange Tourbillon Pour le Merite is one of the legendary pillars of modern horology. It was made to relaunch the brand and to show the world that German watchmaking was back. 30 years later, Lange sits firmly atop the horological world. The tourbillon PLM project was begun only 2 weeks after the fall of the Berlin wall; the watch tells the history not only of horology, but of the triumph of human spirit and the history of the 20th century.

The Tourbillon Pour le Merite was made in the spirit of the independent watches TickTocking is dedicated to (and by some of the same people!). It was created out of a singular vision. To properly realize the complicated chain and fusee tourbillon, the nascent brand enlisted the help of Renaud and Papi, long before their complicated tourbillons for AP and RM. The lead watchmakers on the project? None other than the Gronefeld brothers.

Only 50 pieces were made in platinum. This one is in outstanding, original condition and comes complete with its original box and papers. It is truly a museum grade watch.
