Richard Mille

RM004 (RM004V2) Platinum

The RM004 is, perhaps, the ultimate Richard Mille. The Split Seconds chronograph is one of the most difficult complications to create (just look at how few exist). It is similar to a minute repeater in terms of complexity and skill.

From the beginning, Richard Mille wanted to have a split second chrono watch and worked with Renaud & Papi (APRP) to create one of the most spectacular movements of modern horology. It is said that all of the RM004’s were actually sold at a loss, the movement proved so difficult to develop. Because of that, RM004’s are extremely rare, with only a couple surfacing each year on the global resale market.

This RM004 is even more special as it is cased in platinum. The watch was never officially offered in platinum, so much so that it was never even on the price list. I am told that only 3 platinum RM004v2’s exist, making this one of the rarest and most spectacular Richard Milles you will ever come across.
