I’m well on the record as preferring independent brands over the big guys. But, every now and then the big companies flex their talent and production resources and create something which cannot be ignored. Perhaps my favorite of the last decade is this JLC Minute Repeater. It sports 15 days of power reserve, a torque meter like Richard Mille RM002/3, a titanium vanadium case that is water resistant, and a minute repeater with a gong attached to the crystal that is as loud and clear and any repeater I’ve ever heard. The value for money here is just off the charts.

Offered with original box and papers, the watch will come on its OEM black strap with deployant buckle (the calf strap pictured is aftermarket, and yes I know it does not totally fit).
